Dinner Cooking
The team cooks dinner, and then eats it.
What it looks like
A video says in thirty seconds what a page explains in a thousand words: how loud it gets, how much laughing there is, what the hands are doing.
What it is
Dubai is a melting pot of cultures, traditions and cuisines, which makes it the right setting for this one. Teams prepare the whole menu of a dinner under a chef’s supervision, and each is responsible for one course: appetisers, a main, a dessert. People can also rotate roles to learn how several dishes are made. At the end everyone sits down together to eat what they cooked.

Making dinner has never been this entertaining
It’s a very good way to spend a few hours with colleagues in a creative, entertaining setting, sharing the work, the collaboration and the relationships both physically and practically. Picture the people who run the company stepping out of the office and into a kitchen to prepare a roast or a vegetable mousse.
In Dinner Cooking the team takes on a demanding task: making dinner. A friendly, healthy competition pushes the teams to delight each other with what they produce.
Making dinner can be a demanding job for anyone, and especially for a team that has come off a full day at the office. This, though, works as training and improves the relationships between colleagues by developing teamwork and collaboration. Hand-rolled pasta, a main course, a rich dessert or tempting finger food: all of it lets colleagues try their hand at something new and leave the office behind for a day.
How does it run?
The people taking part face a demanding and absorbing task: preparing, under the close supervision of a professional chef, the entire menu of a dinner. Each team is responsible for one particular course. At the end everyone sits down together to enjoy the dinner they cooked with their own hands, and the company.
What it develops
The skills people take out of it go beyond the kitchen: managing time and resources, solving problems, integrating into a team and communicating effectively. The day after, what’s left is a group that has watched its own timings depend on somebody else’s.
When what surfaces deserves an afterwards
An activity surfaces a great deal about how a team communicates, decides and works together, and sometimes what surfaces deserves more time, more depth and a method. That is where a Team Coaching path can begin: a different road, to be taken only if it is needed, to turn what the day made visible into a new way of working together.
