Performance Driving

The team goes out on a circuit, behind the wheel.

What it looks like

A video says in thirty seconds what a page explains in a thousand words: how loud it gets, how much laughing there is, what the hands are doing.

What it is

Professional instructors take the group onto a circuit. The morning is theory: the layout, the technology in the car. The afternoon is driving, with controlled and timed laps, closing with a team race in Grand Prix style.

You drive either production cars or cars prepared for the purpose, on the Yas Marina Circuit at Abu Dhabi.

Speed as a corporate incentive

How well this works is borne out by the growing number of companies choosing it.

It’s a way of communicating with real impact on the people it reaches, and it has no target limit, because the courses are cut to fit the client and can suit people of any age and any level.

The safe and performance driving courses come out of a partnership between companies at the front of their fields.

The product of a partnership between sport and technology, the courses exist to sharpen the basics a driver already has and build their feel at the wheel, with road safety respected throughout.

Professional, experienced instructors

The courses are run by professional, experienced instructors and are open to anyone holding a valid driving licence who needs or wants to become more in command of the car. The principle is little theory in a room and a great deal of practice on the track, because it’s only in the field that the main driving techniques are genuinely understood, through continuous direct exchange between driver and instructor, who build a relationship of mutual trust that way. Different levels of course are available.

The courses run from a base level up through the advanced levels: they begin with how you position yourself to drive and, through a series of exercises, work up to extending the driver’s own limits.

Performance Driving: the supercar day

Driving a supercar is one of the more exhilarating things a person can do: a shot of adrenaline that shakes the body and the mind. Our format is built exactly for that. The people taking part get drawn in by the technology, the class and the power of these cars. Ready to get in, fasten your belt and press the accelerator?

Ready, set, go

The format suits different settings and situations. It can be run on a road or on a circuit, using production vehicles or cars specially prepared for it. There’s also a choice of layouts among those available.

Yas Marina, on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, is the circuit we use. It’s a Formula 1 track, it runs under floodlights into the evening, and it has a marina inside the layout. The corners come one after another with very little straight in between, which is what makes it interesting to drive slowly before it becomes interesting to drive fast.

The programme of the day promises a good deal on its own. The morning is given over to a theory session, where you study the details of the layout and the technology in the car. The afternoon goes to the practical side, with controlled and timed laps on the circuit.

The format finishes with an actual race in the style of a Grand Prix, where the participants, split into teams, get to put into practice what they’ve learned: in the role of real drivers, in an experience with nothing quite like it.

The benefits of this format are all concentrated on group dynamics. Creativity, team spirit, communication, trust and the ability to handle conflict all come out of the experience stronger, and that amplifies what your people are capable of.

The electric option

With an electric car the driving is exceptionally quiet and smooth. The dual-motor models we use reach the performance of the best sports cars, and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in about three seconds is an entirely new sensation.

A large screen in front of the driver lets you see and control every characteristic of the car, with a built-in navigation system that also shows where the battery can be charged to carry on.

When what surfaces deserves an afterwards

An activity surfaces a great deal about how a team communicates, decides and works together, and sometimes what surfaces deserves more time, more depth and a method. That is where a Team Coaching path can begin: a different road, to be taken only if it is needed, to turn what the day made visible into a new way of working together.
