Vertical Garden
The team builds a vertical garden to leave behind for the people who stay.
What it looks like
A video says in thirty seconds what a page explains in a thousand words: how loud it gets, how much laughing there is, what the hands are doing.
What it is
Teams build a vertical garden and give it to a nursery or a primary school. Shelves and pots can be made from recycled materials, which makes it the most complete social and ecological format we run. Into the shelves go tomatoes, basil, strawberries and whatever else will end up in the canteen. The children then watch the plants growing and take care of them.
A present for the children
Among our social team buildings we offer this format: the Vertical Garden. As we said, the participants build a real vertical garden to give to a nursery or a primary school.
Into the shelves go the plants that will be useful for the school canteen. That way the children get to eat healthier food, with tomatoes, basil, strawberries and much else available to them. And they get to follow the plants growing, take care of them and learn how much contact with nature and environmental sustainability matter. The educational effect of all that is considerable.
So what is this team building for?
The purpose reaches past helping the children. Through an activity that is socially useful the members of the team end up closer to each other and, knowing they’re doing something good, a great deal more motivated to work as one. Choosing the plants, placing them where they’ll actually grow and arranging the whole thing so it looks right are real problems to solve together, and they get solved at every stage, from the planning to the planting. The day after, the group has a finished thing to be proud of and a nursery that’s using it.
The Vertical Garden is a charitable activity, and it works well as an end-of-year event.
