Learning and working during Coronavirus

Learning while staying home

We all know these are hard days. Because of Coronavirus we are all forced to stay inside, isolating ourselves from everything and everyone. For this reason, in this period of isolation, the world of culture and entertainment rebels in its own way against the rules imposed by emergency measures. Indeed, it is moving towards the virtual world, the network. It is important to know, in fact, that Coronavirus has forced us to stop but, at the same time, it is giving us the opportunity to have more time to learn new things, about life, culture and work. All over the world, we can see singers singing live in streaming via the most famous social networks, such as Facebook and Instagram, and professors making their knowledge available for free. However, many museums have also taken the initiative to show, through online visits, the treasures that have remained closed in isolation inside their empty rooms.

Museums and virtual visits

This quarantine period is allowing many people to discover the use of online platforms to stay in touch with the art and culture that enrich their countries.

In fact, there are many national and international museums to “visit”, unfortunately for now only virtually, to fill the long days of isolation that await us. There is no lack of initiatives and not even of curiosity from users. There are several museums that are totally subverting their exhibition program and calendar of events and initiatives by throwing themselves into the world of the internet. For example, we know that in Italy, through the use of the main social networks, the museum guides will accompany visitors until the reopening with contents designed specifically to deal with the emergency. Moreover, we discovered that there are also many places of interest in the UAE that adhere to this initiative. They want to give people the opportunity to get to know them with online visits.

We at Teamworking too, to make the most of this period, and also to escape the boredom and anxiety of always and constantly staying at home, have tried to travel virtually to meet culture face to face. We started by going to Florence to see the Uffizi Gallery, to Rome to the Vatican Museums and then we even flew to Russia, St. Petersburg, to visit the rooms of the Hermitage together with the guide Olga Makho streaming live on Youtube. Of course, we are planning to explore more and more of the hidden treasures of the museums from all over the planet.

Thinking about future

Maybe we should start thinking with a management mentality. No more miraculous mentality, no more waiting for the solution to come from above. We will get back together and we’ll be stronger than before. Now more than ever we need each other’s support to get through this period. When all this ends, we will be able to see our friends, colleagues and maybe families again, we will be able to start living our everyday life again and that will be the best moment ever. It will be the moment when we’ll want to live and share everything we have lost in these months. In the meantime, however, let’s remember not to waste our time because, even if we have to spend it at home, it remains precious.

We should start thinking about what forms of relationships we could design in professions, in everyday life, in friendships or even in the use of technologies and expressive forms of art and communication. Staying informed about the world of culture can be a great beginning. We should take on the management mentality: get informed, read, cultivate our hobbies and use all the means at our disposal to share culture.

We’ll start by sharing with you some of the top virtual museums and places of interest in Dubai.

Also, if you like traveling and there are many places you want to see, the capital of Qatar, Doha, gives you the opportunity to get around the city by sitting in front of your computer with a magical experience of Virtual Reality.

Work and training

Not only music and art began to enter our life through a screen. Several professors and researchers have made their online courses accessible for free. It is important to know that many initiatives have been launched these days, with individual professionals, companies and groups offering free courses, webinars and conferences until the end of the emergency. From language courses to multimedia marketing courses, everything has been done to offer people the opportunity to use their free time productively. In short, this pandemic may have caught us unprepared in the beginning, but together we are working to find a way to overcome the most difficult moments! There was no shortage of quick tips and methodologies for dealing with smart working. In addition, everyone began to provide information on coaching, communication and well-being to better face this moment of crisis. We too, in our own way, have tried to provide a “toolbox” during this period of work reorganization with our latest article about the smartworking tips.

Art and Team Building, what did we get from this experience?

In addition to personal enrichment, we have found many ideas for our Team Building activities! We took inspiration from the methodologies we saw applied during these guided tours. How will we use them? To enrich our Urban Game iPad and also the Treasure Hunt for indoor locations. We want to insert new elements of virtual and augmented reality and we want to improve the virtual reality already present in our Urban Game Ipad, especially in those that take place indoors. Thanks to these initiatives, in fact, we have discovered many interesting innovations that will make the experience of our customers increasingly attractive in the future. Even in Team Building activities, in fact, there is no lack of experiences related to art, culture and innovation.

Since we’ve found out a lot of inspiration from all the museum we visited, we think it could be useful if we also share with you 10 international museums to visit while staying at home: their virtual tours and online collections.
